How to clean hard water deposits in the bathroom?
At the shower door is glass, you can see white water marks caused by hard water. You can also see this on the chrome. I've tried to clean it with bleach, vinegar, lemon juice, bar keepers friend, toothpaste, detergent, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and works Kaboom bathroom cleaner. Nothing seems to skate marks. I've put a lot of Elbow grease in it as well and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?? I think also to have a little ring in the toilet that I can not get either. HELP!
There are two products for this purpose. They both stink. They both work. Look for Lime Away or CLR (which stands for Calcium, Lime, Rust) in cleaning section of grocery or home improvement store. It says not to use them in aluminum (like most Shower enclosures?) or marble, but I ignored that and seen no damage. Test a conspicuous place first, of course, and if you see the dull finish please do not use it. (It is certainly the tiles and porcelain.) BTW, your shower is probably something clogged with mineral deposits. You can pick it up and down in the same product. If it comes out, you should use a plastic sandwich bag over your head and tape or rubber band it safe.
