London, October 17, 2007: The influence of celebrity lifestyle on our social life is wearing thin, according to a national poll conducted by community reviewers TrustedPlaces.com site. The website, which allows users to discover and share reviews of places to socialize, announced the survey results together with the perfect celebrity antidote: The Alternative Hot-List. The list, compiled by Trusted Places usersâ € ™ nominations, reveals hidden gems â € "from clubs and bars to restaurants and shops â € "which is the uka € ™ s preferred alternatives to celeb hang-outs like Mahiki, Cipriani and indie haunt, The Hawley Arms.

Main results
* 34% of Britons would be less inclined to visit a new location after reading about a celebrity Party â € "60% said it wouldnâ € ™ t change their election, only 6% would be more likely â €" indicates that we prefer to find our own favorite places than trust in celebrities

* Voters also picked their most and least trusted stars, George Clooney, who comes out on top as the celebrity we would most trust to plan a night out, getting more votes than his two closest rivals combined. Tabloid favorite Paris Hilton was chosen as the least trusted celeb to choose restaurants and bars on our behalf.

* When it comes to reliable sources of information, we are most likely to turn to our friends (71%) or Internet-reviews (45%), rather than glossy magazines and regular paparazzi haunts (24%)
