Necklace Must
I found a pearl necklace and earrings. The brand is Kyoko Shell Pears, anybody tell me anything about them?
They were my mother and be 50-60 years old at least. Could not find any mention of this particular brand on the Internet.
I am not familiar with this particular brand, but the name given me to believe that pearls are faux. Shell pearls are faux pearls made of ground mollusks shell. They tend to look perfect, but they are not genuine. If the beads are actually 50 to 60 year old and true, they would be Akoya cultured pearls. There is a simple way to tell if they are authentic and from the 1950s. During this time, only Japan was producing pearls and almost every strand was trained from about 3 mm near the latch to about 7 mm in the middle. Modulation scheme is very strong and immediately noticeable. If not exam it would be yet another indication of the pearls are fake.
