How do I clean my silver necklace?
my boyfriend kindly asked if he could clean my silver Tiffany necklace and bracelet that yesterday.he could not find the fairy liquid so accustomed BLEACH! Kit went black.i scrubbed for a while, but no joy.then I left it in water.the variety has a creamy color, and the scraper off.any suggestions on how to get it back to normal.
Things You need: 1 / 4 cup baking powder 1 / 4 cup salt 1 / 4 cup liquid detergent 1 / 2 gallon water, large pan Aluminum foil Big plastic spoon stir Colander or sieve Towel Stove top Step 1: Line the inside of the large pan with aluminum foil. Step 2: Pour all ingredients in the lined pan and stir with a plastic spoon. Step 3: Collect the sterling silver jewelry, which requires cleaning and gently drop them into the saucepan. Be sure to counting silver to make sure nothing is thrown out later with aluminum foil. Step 4: Bring the solution to a low boil. Let cook for about 4-5 minutes. Step 5: Remove from heat. After the dissolution Cool a bit, use a colander or strainer and pour the contents of the pot. Rinse with cold water. Step 6: Count your pieces that you put them on a towel to dry. *************** Step 1: Choose the right toothpaste. The key to using toothpaste as a silver jewelry cleaner is baking powder. Do not use gel toothpaste, as it usually does not contain baking powder. And avoid toothpastes that boast tartar control or whitening power as they can contain chemicals that can harm your silver. Step 2: Use a soft cloth moistened to clean more delicate jewelry or softer Silvers. Peeing in silver and add a DAB toothpaste. Remember that a little goes a long way. Rub gently with damp cloth until polished. Step 3: Add a bit more toothpaste if the cloth becomes dark with tarnish and continue cleaning. Simply wash the darkened toothpaste foam from the jewelry piece, rinse the cloth and start over. Step 4: Scrub your silver jewelry gently with a toothbrush for stubborn tarnish or hard to reach grooves. Try to find an old worn toothbrush or buy a new soft-bristled toothbrush to prevent scratching. Ever test a small area first to determine if your jewelry piece should be cleaned with toothpaste or not.
